Art in its spiritual journey

Grade One Gardner in ART

Caught in the spell of creating a design, time seemed to have stood still...

There is a picture of an image in one's mind that can only be found in that mind
where it originated.

The image is printed by the impermanence of lead but significantly indelible in that moment like a thumbprint.

As if in a trance,  the fulness of joy and satisfaction and the emptiness it creates at the same time,  bring pockets of comfort in a way a spiritual experience does.

winding back to reality, we find the soul  consumed with peace and restfulness.

While You were Not looking

You might not hear them recite the elements from the periodic table yet,  or witness an invention of a lifetime but they are surely learning more than those for now.  (Yes, they can sing the periodic table if they must and they surely have at least one invention everyday, but that is ordinary.  They invent new ways to spell some words and sometimes even stick to their own version for the rest of their life or invent stories with the hope that we believe them, etc.)

One cloudy day, the class of Grade 5 put up a spa under one of our classroom forests.  It was truly a sight to see and the sweat was incredibly unforgettable yet everyone enjoyed it especially the willing customers who happened to be the adventurous ones in planet.

It was obviously a most exciting day for the Grade 5 students.  Guess what subject?  ValEd!!

I am recommending that this activity be done with the parents as the "victims" or the receivers of their gift for "healing".
