Birthday Celebrations and Cell Phones

HEdCen would like to celebrate every child turning a year older and what better way to do that but to make everyone understand that  the school allows a simple birthday celebration if requested by the parents.  The simple celebration calls for 1-2 "solids" and 1 kind of juice.  Ice cream is classified as solid, together with pasta, chicken, or barbecue.  Rice and a viand completes the allowable "solids".

If it cannot be helped, the birthday celebration in school must be VERY ssssimple and must follow the NO plastic advocacy, No styrofoam, and No soda.  It is preferred and encouraged that you bring food cooked in your kitchen.  You may also coordinate this with Mrs. Escario if you want the services of the school cafeteria.

Please accomplish the BIRTHDAY CLEARANCE form, ONE WEEK before the planned birthday eat-together.  Your child may get this form from his TIC.  This CLEARANCE will have to be SHOWN to the GUARD before you can bring the food inside the grounds.

We will be very sorry to turn you down without the proper NOTICE to the school.
Please take home all forms of garbage as a result of the simple party.
Balloons and loot bags are not allowed.

In the same breath,  cell phones that have been confiscated will be returned to their owners in 2012.
There will be no special concession granted to any student or parents who might want this policy reviewed.

Please refer to the Student Handbook about this policy.  The teachers-in-charge have made reminders and have reviewed these  policies and guidelines with their students.

And in between , I am also a grandmother

I make rounds everyday if I can help it...  it is always great to walk inside the lab

These are not dead specimens, they are actually alive (see some leaf insects?)!
This one should better not be alive...
I am proud that we hardly have specimens marinated in chloroform, err, formalin.

Inside a classroom is an interesting mood-o-meter- reminding me all the more that we have humans in the grounds!
Shoes and bags are ordinary in this set up.

I do hope that knowledge is not  kept in these bags instead of storing it in the brain.  That's ironical.

The sampaloc garden is a witness to joyful noise

 and the corridors too!
You would find some humans in the library where it should be quiet, but it was not so when I dropped by...

or in the case of Sionil Jose, with Teacher Marissa reminding everyone to do a good job,

while I do my favorite job as a grandma in between breaks.
